What's on in Prague this spring – curated by The Julius.

Spring is when Prague comes into its own. The gardens open, the terraces fill, and the city's cultural calendar reaches one of its finest points of the year. Here is what we think is worth your time.
Easter Markets, Old Town Square
Until 13 April
The Easter markets transform Old Town Square into one of Europe's most beautiful seasonal gatherings. Traditional decorated eggs, Czech handicrafts, open-air food stalls and the city at its most quietly festive. Go in the morning before the crowds arrive. The hot mead alone is worth it.
Paul Simon, Prague Congress Centre
9, 10 & 12 April
An American legend opening his European tour in Prague. Three nights at the Prague Congress Centre. For those who have followed his career from the beginning, this is a very good reason to be in the city in April.
Tame Impala, O2 Arena
20 April
One of the defining acts of the past decade, live at the O2 Arena. A spring evening in Prague followed by Tame Impala is a combination that requires very little further persuasion.
Walpurgis Night, Petřín Hill
30 April
A Czech tradition that marks the end of winter with bonfires across the city. The bonfire on Petřín Hill is the largest and most atmospheric. A warm coat and a walk up the hill as darkness falls is the right way to experience it.
United Islands of Prague
30 April – 2 May
World music, cultural events and open-air performances across Prague's islands. One of the city's most relaxed and characterful festivals, free to attend and entirely worth an afternoon.
Eric Clapton, O2 Arena
4 May
Five decades of music. One night in Prague. Tickets are going quickly.
Prague Spring International Music Festival
12 May – 4 June
Now in its 81st year, Prague Spring is one of the world's great classical music festivals and one of the finest reasons to be in this city in May. This year's edition welcomes Martha Argerich returning to Prague after 52 years, conductor Klaus Mäkelä, and soprano and conductor Barbara Hannigan as Artist-in-Residence. Concerts take place across the city's most extraordinary venues – the Municipal House, the Rudolfinum and St Agnes' Convent among them. Book tickets early. The best evenings sell out quickly.
Prague Marathon, Old Town Square
10 May
The city's most celebrated running event and one of the most scenic 42 kilometres in Europe. Whether you're running or watching, Old Town Square on marathon morning is a very good place to be.
Prague Gardens Open
From 1 April
The castle gardens, the Wallenstein Garden and the city's most beautiful green spaces reopen for the season. Spring planting, quiet mornings and some of the finest views in the city. Worth building time around on a clear day.
Our team is always happy to help with tickets, reservations and directions. Just ask at reception.
